Assessment Process
Telephone consultation
A telephone call with therapist Hannah will be arranged to discuss the referral made parents or your child's school.
Online meeting can also be arranged depending, if this a more suitable option for you.
Screening Assessment
This is a short assessment, that allows Hannah to gain a better understanding of your child's speech, language and communication needs.
A screening assessment can take upto approximately 60 minutes (depending on your child's age). A brief report will be written following the assessment, which can also be shared with your child's education setting, should you wish.

Full Assessment
This is an in-depth assessment of your child's receptive and expressive language skills, and their communication needs.
Where appropriate Hannah may contact your child's school/nursery to understand how your child's needs are impacting on their learning.
The assessment will consist of:

Discussion with parent(s)/guardian.

Observation at your child's school or nursery.

Formal examination using published speech and language approved assessments.

Liaison with other professional that are involved in your child's care.

Detailed report including evaluation of assessment and recommendations for therapy plan (if needed).

Any resources recommended for therapy to accompany follow up work at home or school, will be shared via email.
